Our Story

BEM Melo (Body · Earth · Mind · Melo) creates thoughtfully designed, plant-based essentials that feel exceptionally soft on your skin and are made with care for the earth.

Founded from a home studio in San Jose, California, BEM Melo began with a simple intention: less plastic, more plant-based, more mindful. Inspired by years of practicing yoga and searching for softer, plant-based alternatives, we created the clothing we wished existed.

Our Philosophy

Soft on skin
Made with ultra-soft, plant-based fiber blends that feel smooth, breathable, and gentle against the skin. Our fabrics are OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified (Class I – Baby Articles), tested for a wide range of harmful substances and suitable for direct skin contact.

Gentle on earth
Made from bamboo, a fast-growing, renewable resource that typically requires relatively few inputs to grow. Our bamboo-derived fibers are produced using a closed-loop manufacturing process that recovers and reuses much of the water and solvents, helping reduce waste and environmental impact.

Melo on mind
We believe clothing can influence how you feel. When what you wear feels soft, comfortable, and effortless, your body relaxes—and your mind can too.
